WADL-301 – Multi-Function Display & Data Logger

Compressed Air Data Logger with 7-inch Touch Display for Every Modbus Sensor

The WADL-301 is the multi-function display and data logger at the centre of a WiseAir compressed air monitoring system. It polls every WiseAir and third-party Modbus sensor in the compressor room, shows the readings live on a 7-inch touch screen, records them to on-board memory, raises alarms, and forwards everything to your SCADA and to the WASM-604 cloud monitoring software over Ethernet, 4G or Wi-SUN.

Most compressor rooms have a flow meter on the header, a dew point sensor behind the dryer, pressure transmitters with no display and a power meter inside the panel. Nobody sees all of them at once, and the numbers are rarely logged or alarmed. The WADL-301 brings every reading onto one screen on the wall, without PLC programming.

  • 7″ colour capacitive touch display: value, graph and setting views
  • 2 × isolated RS-485 Modbus RTU master inputs and 4 × 4–20 mA inputs
  • RS-485 Modbus RTU output and 1 Gbit Ethernet (Modbus TCP)
  • Up to 30 measurement points per site, with on-board logging and USB export
  • 2 alarm relays; Wi-SUN wireless coordinator on the WADL-301-D

What does the WADL-301 do?

Collect. Modbus RTU master on two isolated RS-485 ports, four 4–20 mA inputs, and Wi-SUN wireless on the WADL-301-D. Auto-search finds WiseAir sensors; manual add handles any third-party Modbus device.

Show. One value card per measurement point, trend graphs with two-finger zoom, and sites and points selected from the top bar.

Record. Data is logged to on-board memory. Recorded files and screenshots export to a USB drive.

Alarm. Set limits per channel. Two changeover relays drive a beacon, a hooter or a PLC input, and the alarm status shows on screen and in the cloud.

Forward. Data uploads to DCS, PLC, SCADA or cloud platforms over Modbus RTU (RS-485 out) and Modbus TCP (Ethernet), with store-and-forward to WASM-604 so no data is lost when the network is down.

Where is the WADL-301 used?

  • Compressor rooms: one screen for header flow, pressure, dew point and compressor power, from WiseAir sensors such as the WAFS 104 thermal mass flow sensor and the WADS dew point sensors, or from any Modbus vendor.
  • Dryer and air quality monitoring: relay alarm on a dew point excursion before wet air reaches production.
  • Plants without a free PLC: bridges RS-485 field sensors to Ethernet SCADA and the cloud without a PLC integration project.
  • Distant measurement points: the WADL-301-D reaches WACA wireless sensors over a Wi-SUN mesh where no cable can run.
  • Energy audits and reporting: logged data supports GreenCo and ISO 50001 records and compressed air audits.
  • Multi-site plants: one WADL-301 per compressor room or building; WASM-604 rolls them up into one view.

Installation

Panel mount: cut 185.4 × 120.5 mm (R 10.5) in the panel door, seat the unit and fix it with the four buckles from behind (WADL-301-P kit).

Wall mount: fit the bracket to the back cover with four M3 screws, fix the bracket to the wall, then hang and lock the unit (WADL-301-W kit).

DIN-rail mount: fit the rail bracket to the back cover and slide the unit onto a 35 mm rail (WADL-301-R kit).

Wire all connectors before closing the back cover. Sensors can be daisy-chained on port A and port B. Install indoors in a dry area; keep the Wi-SUN antenna vertical and clear of panel steel.

Frequently asked questions

Can the WADL-301 read sensors from other brands?
Yes. It reads any Modbus RTU device on its RS-485 inputs and any 4–20 mA sensor on its analogue inputs, including third-party flow meters, power meters and compressor controllers.

Do I need a PLC or a laptop to set it up?
No. Devices, channels, layout, alarms and data upload are configured on the touch screen with the built-in configuration guide.

What happens if the network goes down?
The WADL-301 keeps logging to on-board memory and forwards the stored data to WASM-604 when the connection returns, so there are no gaps in the record.

How many measurement points can it handle?
Up to 30 measurement points per site, across multiple sites, plus virtual (calculated) channels.

What is the difference between the WADL-301 and the WADL-301-D?
The WADL-301-D adds a built-in Wi-SUN mesh coordinator and antenna, so it can collect data wirelessly from WiseAir sensors fitted with WACA connectors.
